Lincoln Town Car VS Lincoln MKS

For those of us in the transportation industry, this is pretty big news. Besides just being the newest line of Lincoln luxury sedans, it is falling in line to replace one of the oldest models in the private transportation, airport shuttle, and VIP transportation industry.
Lincoln Town Cars, along with stretch limousines have been the epitome of luxury car service for decades upon decades.
Although the MKS does have a sleeker look, the Town Car has several key advantages for chauffeurs and the passengers which they transport.
For instance, the limited trunk space in the MKS could possibly make things a little difficult for passengers with luggage to get everything stored in a timely and orderly fashion.
In addition to the smaller trunk space, the car appears to be more slender. The interior is somewhat spacious, but for some reason it does not appear as spacious as the Lincoln Town Car.
In terms of comfortableness, one of the hallmarks of the traditional Lincoln Town Car was the surplus of leg room and seating in the back seat to compliment the more than adequate amount of luggage space in the trunk.
Passengers would generally get the feel of a very spacious and open environment to accompany the luxury and and accommodation of private transportation.
As nice as the MKS may be, it feels more like you are riding in the backseat of a very nice car, but not one that caters to you as a private passenger in need of both space and luxury.
With that said, the MKS does feature quite a few additional amenities than the Lincoln Town Car and the cost, given all of the additions, seems pretty well justified.
As a private owner, I could see a few of the benefits in purchasing a MKS. Its new design and innovative capabilities definitely put you in the front seat of automotive transportation.
However, from a professional transportation provider's standpoint, there is something kind of timeless and elegant about the Lincoln Town Car.
Having been in the Town Car Service industry for well over 20 years, we will certainly miss the tradition. SFO Car Service may very well be better off with the newest addition, but we will certainly appreciate the good years that the Town Car has given us.
